NTLDR Missing

Windows 2000 NTLDR Missing---

1.Make Sure there is no Floppy or CD

2.Files missing in the Root Directory named as

          i)  NTLDR ii) NTDETECT.COM  iii) BOOT.INI

If any one is missing copy them to the root directory from startup disk or from another w2k System.

3.Type the Command at Prompt > fdisk /mbr

4.Start the Windows 2000 Setup Goto the Repair menu then to the Repair Console.

            i)Goto Root of the Drive
           ii)Copy a:\boot.ini c:

5.To Fix the Boot Record use the commands Fixboot, Fixmbr and reactivate your Windows-2000 boot partition Diskpart.

6.You can also use your Windows 2000 server installation CD

Windows 2000 Recovery Console> Repair windows 2000> Recovery Console> Here which windows 2000 Installation you have > Select the proper one

You can also start the Recovery console from the windows 2000 startup disks or by using Winnt32.exe /cmdcons

Try the SAM file Located at C:\winnt\system32\config

To Create an Emergency Repair Disk
Open Backup -> tools -> Create an Emergency Repair Disk

To Create Setup Disks use the command d:\bootdisk\makeboot a: (For this You require 4 blank floppy's. And label them as Setup Disk 1, Setup Disk 2, Setup Disk 3, Setup Disk 4.

For Remote Desktop Connection in Windows use the command as mentioned below
